The Brockington Firm LLC was established in 2015. The Brockington Firm's goal is to educate clients on the importance of having an accountant at the forefront of their business or nonprofit. We understand in business that most entrepreneurs are working so hard on starting, growing, or stabilizing their business that they don’t realize the fundamentals of a B.A.I.L team— B.A.I.L stands for a banker, accountant, insurance, and lawyer. These four relationships are vital to a company's long-term success. Having this team in place can help small businesses, nonprofits, and solo entrepreneurs avoid making some of the short-term mistakes that lead to long-term effects. The Brockington Firm LLC offers services that help a company from the beginning, middle, and end of life. Our services include new business formation and planning, bookkeeping, income tax preparation for companies and individuals, tax debt relief, non-profit accounting, payroll, CFO services, business consulting, and internal controls.
About Our Leader
Karen Brockington is the lead accountant and owner of the Brockington Firm, LLC. Before starting the Brockington Firm, Karen’s accounting career had spanned over 25 years. She has worked in various industries and managed millions of dollars for companies and organizations such as Under Armour, United Way of Central Maryland, and Laureate Education. Her passion and mission are to educate people on the importance of accountants and their work. She loves to give presentations on budgeting and business ownership principles and tactics. She has held presentations for churches, business owners, and specialized industries such as authors, beauticians, and daycare providers.
Karen is well-educated. She has an associate degree in Paralegal Studies, a bachelor’s degree in accounting, and an MBA focusing on accounting. She is currently studying to gain her Certified Public Accountant license. Karen is an ordained pastor and a published author. She is married and has two daughters, a son, four grandchildren, and her loveable tabby, Sybil.
